32' Pilothouse Sailboat: Marcelle II in Cowichan Bay, British Columbia for sale

32' Pilothouse Sailboat: Marcelle II
32' Pilothouse Sailboat: Marcelle II
$15,000

Own a bit of BC's maritime history. Marcelle II is a 32' pilothouse sailboat beautifully designed by Tom Halliday who also designed the famous RCMP boat, Saint Roch, which is displayed at the Vancouver Maritime Museum. Marcelle II was built in Vancouver in 1948 by Frank Goodwin and J. Minot using only the finest of materials: 1" old growth yellow cedar planking and 1 3/8" X 2 1/8" steam bent oak ribs on 10" centres.
She has since gained all new mahogany trim on the handrails, toerail, rubrail, and hatch. With over 6000 hours having gone into her restoration since 2007, including a rebuilt Volvo engine and cockpit renewed with epoxy and fiberglass over new plywood, Marcelle II also has numerous brand new features such as electronics, upholstery, and a galley Cookmate double burner alcohol stove. This motorsailer's overall length is 32" and in rebuild every effort has been made to make the vessel structure accessible.
