Topaz is 12 years old and 12hh. He is half welsh with excellent conformation and movement, and a solid build that can easily carry a small adult.

Naturally curious and confident, he has nice gaits and is experienced and talented on the trail. He is good with beaches, water, mud, bridges, stairs, traffic, rough terrain, bikes, dogs and farm equipment. He rides bitless, happily goes out alone or with other horses and is good leading or following. Very respectful on the ground, lunges, good with his feet, loads easily and an easy keeper. No vices, is barefoot and uses boots for going out on trails.

Topaz was rescued with 3 other welsh crosses from the meat pen 4 yrs ago. He was there through no fault of his own, however he is very sensitive, takes time to develop trust, and needs a calm, gentle and confident rider, or direct supervision for a young rider until a relationship develops. Topaz has lived with me for three years; I am a coach and trainer, and his life has been relaxing, with plenty of horse centred training, trail riding and providing natural horsemanship lessons for young riders.

He was purchased for my son, and although he helped me retrain him and was the first person on his back, he is no longer interested in riding. Topaz is currently being ridden almost every day by a 15 year old on trails and doing some light schooling. Topaz is a smart, honest, and kind pony with a big heart.

He is best suited to an experienced family or trail home, and I feel he would excel at mountain trail.

I have good local hay I can sell to new owner if needed, and he comes with a set of very new hoof boots ($550 value), halter, lead, fly mask and brushes.
